4월 22일 Sarah's BirthdayOn Sarah's birthday we went to Alice in Wonderland park. Sarah used to play Alice at the park when she first moved to Bournemouth, so it was quite interesting to see how it's changed. It was actually pretty good - it helped that the weather was on our side and because it was during the week it wasn't very busy. One member of staff was quite irritating when he kept saying, "ahhh, poor thing" and "isn't it sad" etc etc about Lucas. People don't seem to get it. No he's not a poor thing. He's a little boy with a physical inconvenience. If you keep telling him he's a poor boy he's going to start believing it.
Stragely, Will Mellor from off of the telly was there. Alice in Wonderland is apparently the place to be. Bit strange because I was telling Sarah that there was a guy who looked like him when I realised it was actually him. He seemed to be having fun (well, his kids did anyway). Sarah was a very lucky girl and got all manner of goodies and treats and managed to open them at a very sedate pace which kept her going all day! See photos of some of the frolics. 4월 9일 Poole HarbourRob kindly took us out on/in Poole Harbour at the weekend. We went out in a boat called Echo and Lucas did most of the driving, as you can see from the photos! We stopped at the Quay to get some chips then we were off again. You can meet Rob at http://www.hoec.freeuk.com/ 4월 2일 Right to ReadLucas was on the news a few times last Wednesday after the Right to Read campaign. Here is the link to the BBC snippet.
We went to lobby our MP at Westminster. Two local families travelled to London, but our local MP didn't show up, even though he responded to one of the two letters saying he would. He is a Tory mind so I wasn't too surprised! Thankfully our MP from where we used to live (Annette Brooke MP - Lucas again) said she would meet us, and did - even though she had broken her hip less than a week before the lobby!
We had a good day regardless and Lucas had a chance to meet up with his Grandpop, which was more important to him than hanging around a Medieval hall at Westminster.
